Owners and West Town residents Cassie Green and Gary Stephens are thrilled to bring Green Grocer Chicago to the Neighborhood. Since this is their first business venture it is basically their baby – aside from their bulldog Harley, of course!

Cassie’s enthusiasm for sustainable food and cooking led to the vision for Green Grocer Chicago. She is the owner/operator that you will probably see anytime the store is open, while Gary will continue his current job and act more as a silent partner, although you will still see him around now and then.

As a way to share her passion for healthy food and healthy living Green Grocer Chicago will host classes/discussion about various healthy living topics on a regular basis. Check out our calendar.

Danielle comes to Green Grocer Chicago with several years of experience working in the farmers’ market scene. It is from the farmers and customers at the farmers’ markets that she developed her belief in community and cooperation in every level of food production and consumption. Her interest in, and activities with, food traverses all its stages, from the dirt to the plate. Ultimately for Danielle, healthy food is a way of life.
